The future of banking is increasingly being shaped by the infrastructure behind every transaction. Payments, APIs, digital platforms and emerging financial technologies are changing how individuals, businesses and financial institutions move and manage money.
Sıtkı Bolat, MBA has built his career within this transformation.
Today, as Head of Transaction Banking & Innovation at Dukhan Bank in Qatar, Bolat brings more than 13 years of experience across banking and fintech, with expertise spanning payments, cash management, digital banking, API ecosystems and financial innovation.
From Engineering to Financial Services
Bolat’s professional journey began in engineering, working within a large-scale shipyard environment before entering banking through Akbank’s Management Trainee Programme.
That transition established a foundation in commercial banking, credit, pricing and client relationships before his career moved increasingly towards transaction banking and digital financial products.
At QNB Finansbank, where he spent more than seven years, Bolat focused on cash management and trade finance. His work included corporate payments, collections, supply chain finance and digital trade solutions for SMEs, commercial businesses and corporate clients.

The evolution of banking is increasingly about making complex financial infrastructure simpler, faster and more accessible to the client.
Turning Banking Infrastructure Into Digital Products
As financial services became more digital, Bolat’s responsibilities expanded from conventional banking products towards the platforms connecting banks with their customers.
His work has included API-enabled payments, real-time transactions, SWIFT payment tracking, digital trade finance, automated collections and supply chain finance.
He later moved into fintech with Moka United, taking responsibility for payments and cross-border product strategy. There, he led the development and scaling of API-driven payment products across foreign exchange, cards and alternative payment methods.
This experience strengthened a recurring theme throughout his career: translating complex regulatory and technological infrastructure into products that businesses and customers can actually use.
Connecting Payments, Platforms and Innovation
Bolat subsequently joined Misyon Investment Bank, where his responsibilities covered the bank’s payments, cash management and B2B/API banking portfolio.
His work extended across instant payments, international payment rails, cards, QR payments, corporate internet banking, open banking and API infrastructure. He also contributed to initiatives involving digital assets and tokenisation, bringing traditional banking infrastructure closer to emerging financial technologies.
In 2026, he also served as Executive Vice President at Payem, contributing to the development of payment and electronic-money business models and regulatory preparations.
Innovation in financial services becomes meaningful when technology, regulation and commercial value can move forward together.
A New Chapter in Qatar
In September 2026, Bolat joined Dukhan Bank as Head of Transaction Banking & Innovation.
The role brings together the different strands of his career, from commercial banking and cash management to fintech, digital platforms and payment infrastructure.
His focus now encompasses payments, cash products, B2B APIs and platform initiatives, operating at the intersection of product, technology, regulation and long-term business strategy.
His professional development reflects that multidisciplinary approach. Bolat holds an MBA from Koç University, an academic background in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, and advanced product management training.
Looking Towards the Future of Finance
One of the most significant aspects of Bolat’s professional focus is the convergence between established banking systems and emerging financial infrastructure.
Blockchain-based financial products, tokenisation, digital assets, APIs and real-time payments are increasingly becoming part of the broader conversation around the future of financial services.
Bolat’s experience across both traditional banking and fintech gives him perspective on both sides of that transition.

The next generation of banking will not be defined by technology alone, but by how effectively institutions turn technology into trusted financial experiences.
