Before his current role, Khalid served as Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) from 2019 to early 2024, where he set strategic directions to diversify Bahrain’s economy across FinTech, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors. With over 25 years of rich experience in financial and capital markets, he has also led global market operations for BNP Paribas in the Middle East and Africa.
Khalid holds influential board positions at key institutions including the Central Bank of Bahrain, Bahrain Economic Development Board, Gulf Payments Company, Gulf Monetary Council, and Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company—actively shaping policies that underpin Bahrain’s economic growth and resilience.
