Sherif Kamel is a distinguished Egyptian academic, executive, board member, and thought leader whose career spans technology, management education, digital transformation, leadership, and organizational change. A Journey from Technology to Leadership
Kamel began his career in Egypt’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), where he worked on technology adoption, training, and professional development within government and public-sector organizations. He later joined the Regional Information Technology Institute (RITI), where he developed international academic partnerships and expanded technology and management education programs.
His long-standing association with The American University in Cairo (AUC) has been central to his leadership journey. He currently serves as Dean of the Onsi Sawiris School of Business and Professor of Management, having previously served as Founding Dean, Vice President for Information Management, and University President’s Special Advisor on Strategic Management.
Advancing Business Education
Kamel has played an influential role in strengthening AUC’s global business-education presence while championing innovation, executive education, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.
His influence extends internationally through board and advisory roles with organizations including CEMS, GBSN, AACSB, NEOMA Business School, Luiss Guido Carli University, and SGH Warsaw School of Economics. He also served as Chair of the AACSB Board of Directors from 2024 to 2025 and later as Immediate Past Chair.
In 2026, his contribution to global business education was further recognized through the AACSB Global Impact Award for Excellence in Service: Community Leadership.

Kamel’s expertise also extends into corporate and economic governance. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Egypt and has held independent and advisory positions with leading organizations across Egypt and internationally.
