Currently, Areeg leads the mission for La Chaine de l’Espoir in Iraq, focusing on urgent healthcare reconstruction and access. Her leadership includes spearheading the building and equipping of the Sinjar French Medical Center (SFMC), a vital facility providing emergency, obstetric, and specialized care to a vulnerable population recovering from years of conflict. Additionally, she contributes to the rehabilitation of Mosul University’s Medical and Research Center, enhancing healthcare services and medical training in Northern Iraq. These initiatives, in partnership with the Iraqi Ministry of Health and international donors, serve as cornerstones for restoring essential healthcare and fostering community resilience.​

Previously, Areeg provided philanthropic consulting, organizational development, grant design, and staff capacity building across Jordan, Libya, and Lebanon. She has a proven track record of ensuring project deliverables meet strict technical and quality standards while building civil society capacity, notably leading ACTED’s civil society strategies in Jordan and Libya.

Areeg has successfully managed multi-million-dollar projects funded by the UNDP, EU, AFD, ECHO, WFP, FAO, GIZ, and British Council. Her roles have included managing strategic partnerships, budgeting, reporting, and field operations in organizations such as HelpAge International, Handicap International, Terre des hommes, and ACTED. Her leadership has been pivotal in establishing rehabilitation centers, capacity-building initiatives, and emergency responses across MENA regions.
